The most important insurances in Germany are liability insurance, home insurance, glass insurance and accident insurance. Here you will find a brief overview and why they are so important.
These are the most basic insurances you should have when living in Germany. Because with them you will protect more than 80%* of the recurring accidents of individuals and families living in Germany.
1. Civil Liability Insurance
2. Home Insurance
3. Accident Insurance
4. Glass Insurance
If you cause damage to other people's health or property, you have to pay the repair or treatment bills. The costs can be very high, so you risk paying for repairs for the rest of your life if you are not sufficiently protected. Liability insurance will cover legal costs and repairs, should you occasionally cause damage.
This type of insurance protects your property up to a certain value. Basic rates insure furniture and all other movable property in the home. More sophisticated rates can also cover computers, mobile phones, bicycles and portable equipment. Depending on your situation and your needs, you can protect yourself optimally from rubbers or occasions.
If you have an accident at work, your employer will cover the cost of medical expenses. If you have an accident elsewhere, the health insurance will only cover the most basic service. Cosmetic operations or separate rooms in a hospital have to be paid for by the injured person himself. This is why it makes sense to protect yourself against the consequences of an accident (e.g. on the road).
Anything consisting of glass should be insured separately due to the increased risk of either the glass cover of your phone breaking or the windows being shattered by the storm.
Although the above is the minimum that a person should have when arriving in Germany, Germany is characterised by a myriad of insurance types amounting to more than 2,000 variants. However, it is not necessary to buy all of them. Our recommendation from GREAT REVENUE INTERNATIONAL is to analyse your own risks and those of your family and to purchase the ones that will really protect your quality of life.

Legal insurance covers the cost of legal advice from a lawyer. You can turn to a lawyer if you have a dispute with your employer, your landlord, your university or any other person. They answer your questions, give you advice, write you letters and defend you in court, if things go too far.
